Cost Control Manager

About the role

The Cost Control Manager will lead quantity surveying and cost management for retail construction and fit‑out projects. You will be responsible for delivering accurate cost estimates, managing budgets, and ensuring commercial compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end quantity surveying and cost management activities for retail construction and fit‑out projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, project budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
• Review architectural, engineering, and construction drawings to identify cost implications.
• Manage tendering processes, including bid evaluation, vendor comparison, and contractor negotiations.
• Monitor project costs, variations, claims, and change orders to ensure commercial compliance.
• Conduct cost analysis and value‑engineering initiatives to optimise spending without compromising quality.
• Prepare and validate progress billings, contractor payments, and final accounts.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Project Management teams on vendor accreditation and commercial evaluations.
• Track financial performance and provide regular cost reports to senior leadership.
• Mentor junior quantity surveyors or commercial staff as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in quantity surveying, cost management or commercial construction.
• At least 3 years of leadership or managerial experience.
• Proven experience with retail, commercial, mall or multi‑site fit‑out projects.
