Compliance & Legal Officer – Philippines

About the role

As a Compliance & Legal Officer based in the Philippines, you will provide critical compliance and legal support across a diverse range of matters, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk for Bureau Veritas. The role offers exposure to investigations, contract negotiation, corporate governance and strategic advisory within a global organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide compliance training and advice.
• Support compliance programmes and activities rolled out by Head Office, including the Annual Compliance Declaration.
• Conduct investigations and recommend actions on potential breaches of the Code of Ethics reported through whistleblowing or other channels.
• Review and negotiate client contracts to align with Bureau Veritas principles and good contracting standards.
• Manage corporate governance activities, maintain registers and support Boards and Company Secretaries.
• Provide legal support across insurance, property, intellectual property, disputes and compliance reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws degree with 2‑5 years of related experience.
• Excellent critical‑thinking, problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work hard and be flexible regarding timing and context.
• Ability to learn and adjust quickly.
• Capability to work under pressure.
• Strong contract review and negotiation experience in a similar role.
• Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and build strong stakeholder relationships.
