Compliance & Ethics Counsel – Data Privacy Manager

About the role

The Legal Counsel – Ethics & Compliance, Data Privacy is a permanent, full‑time manager position within Accenture’s Global Data Privacy Team. The role focuses on providing expert guidance on data privacy matters, supporting AI and digital initiatives, and ensuring compliance for internal and client‑facing projects.

Key responsibilities

• Advise corporate and client‑facing functions worldwide on data privacy, risk management, privacy reviews, incident handling, and individual rights requests.
• Develop and improve privacy processes, internal tools, and governance methodologies.
• Conduct privacy reviews of new and existing projects on regional and global scales.
• Embed privacy‑by‑design principles into business processes and collaborate with legal, employment, and compliance teams.
• Stay current on legal and regulatory developments affecting data privacy and related public policy.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of overall experience, including at least 7 years as a Data Privacy/Data Protection lawyer.
• Licensed lawyer in the Philippines.
• Experience preferably within financial services or telecommunications.
• IAPP certifications (CIPP/E, CIPM) or equivalent are preferred.

Required skills

• Subject‑matter expertise in data privacy and privacy risk management.
• Ability to conduct privacy reviews, handle incidents, and manage individual rights requests.
• Proficiency in developing privacy processes, tools, and governance frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of privacy‑by‑design methodology.
• Up‑to‑date awareness of regional and global data privacy regulations.
