Clinical Nurse – Aboriginal Health

About the role

The Great Southern Aboriginal Health Service is seeking a part‑time Clinical Nurse to deliver high‑quality primary health care to Aboriginal communities. This fixed‑term position (0.5 FTE) runs until 30 June 2026 with potential for extension or permanency.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily nursing activities and ensure delivery of safe, client‑focused services.
• Utilise human, physical and material resources efficiently.
• Act as a clinical resource and mentor for other staff members.
• Travel within the Great Southern region to provide outreach care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold service standards.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of primary health‑care principles and social determinants of health.
• Excellent written, verbal and group facilitation communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Awareness of multicultural issues, especially those affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Eligibility to hold, or current possession of, a C or C‑A class driver’s licence.
• Current immunisation certification or willingness to obtain one.
