Civil Design Engineer – Energy Projects

About the role

Aurecon’s Global Design Centre is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to support the ANZ Energy team in delivering safe, innovative, and sustainable civil solutions for large‑scale energy infrastructure. The role spans the full project lifecycle, from concept through detailed design and delivery, and is open to engineers at intermediate, senior, and lead levels.

Key responsibilities

• Concept and detailed design of high‑voltage infrastructure, including substations, BESS, solar and wind projects, covering earthworks, roads, drainage and layout plans.
• Produce civil engineering designs, technical reports, specifications and related documentation.
• Utilise civil design software such as Civil 3D and 12D to create and manage models.
• Develop and apply knowledge of relevant industry, client standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Support digital engineering initiatives and drive innovation to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary and offshore design teams across different time zones.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional civil engineering experience, primarily on energy‑related projects.
• Proven experience designing transmission lines rated above 132 kV.
• Experience working with offshore designers and coordinating across cultures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Passion for continuous learning and re‑imagining engineering solutions.
