Chemical Technician – Laboratory Testing

About the role

Meralco is seeking a licensed Chemical Technician to coordinate chemical testing activities across its offices. The role involves operating laboratory equipment, handling samples, and ensuring accurate test results while supporting the company’s commitment to safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, identify, and log incoming specimens for testing.
• Operate Universal Testing Machines and other precision equipment for mechanical and structural tests such as tension, compression, bend, shear, impact, and flammability.
• Perform physical measurements of samples and assist with special non‑standard tests.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Prepare and submit detailed test results and technical reports.
• Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and laboratory quality standards.

Required profile

• Licensed Chemical Technician with a BS in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in laboratory testing, chemical analysis, or equipment calibration.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards and laboratory quality systems.
• Proficiency in technical report preparation and documentation.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and handling hazardous substances.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work onsite in San Joaquin, Pasig.
