About the role
The Category Manager will lead the development and execution of sales strategies for a portfolio of FMCG brands. Reporting to senior leadership, this role defines the strategic direction for each category, collaborates with customer and distributor teams, and ensures alignment between marketing initiatives and sales objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Define and implement category and channel strategies to capture market opportunities and meet brand and sales targets.
- Translate brand equity and marketing plans into actionable sales operations.
- Lead the development and execution of category management (CATMAN) initiatives.
- Create promotional and merchandising plans for the assigned categories.
- Convert new product marketing plans into sales targets for sell‑in, volume, distribution, and merchandising.
- Forecast sales by category, brand, and SKU.
- Develop sales materials aligned with channel and category strategies.
- Design visual “Picture of Success” guidelines covering engagement points, merchandising, inventory visibility, and asset requirements.
- Monitor execution across outlets, channels, and regions to ensure compliance with standards and targets.
Required profile
- Graduate in Marketing or a Business‑related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in sales or marketing, preferably within FMCG.
- Strong understanding of FMCG business dynamics and category management.
- Experience in trade marketing is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective negotiation abilities.
- Systematic, creative, honest, and diligent work ethic.
