Business Resilience Manager

About the role

The Business Resilience Manager leads the annual departmental Scenario Analysis programme and Business Continuity / Operational Resilience assurance activities. The role covers disruption scenarios based on critical activities in departmental Business Continuity Plans, exercise materials, facilitation of scenario analysis and tabletop exercises, and quality assurance of plans and critical services. It is accountable for the quality, timeliness and effectiveness of resilience activities, and for driving remediation to closure.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the annual Scenario Analysis programme across departments, with agreed timelines, participants, templates and deliverables.
• Design disruption scenarios based on departmental processes, dependencies, critical activities and continuity risks, and prepare session guides, scenario injects, attendance records and outcome templates.
• Facilitate scenario analysis sessions and support BCM tabletop exercises, guide discussions, capture observations and link outcomes to BCP or BC Plan Lite improvements.
• Maintain a central tracker of findings, gaps, actions, owners, dates, risk ratings and closure status, follow up with action owners and escalate overdue or material items.
• Validate closure evidence and update BCPs, BC Plan Lites, exercise records and assurance documentation.
• Support BCM assurance by consolidating review results, exercise outcomes and action status for management reporting, and prepare reports, dashboards and management updates.
• Support reviews of third-party business continuity arrangements, coordinate with vendors, procurement, risk and business stakeholders, and escalate material concerns.
• Resolve routine to moderately complex resilience issues using established standards and procedures, and escalate material, high-risk or policy-interpretation matters to the BCM Lead.
