BESS Engineer

About the role

The Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Engineer will support business development and early‑stage execution of BESS and hybrid PV+BESS projects. The role bridges technical analysis, commercial evaluation, and feasibility studies from concept through pre‑construction, helping the company make informed investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical feasibility studies and due diligence for PV+BESS and stand‑alone BESS projects.
• Develop preliminary system sizing, layout concepts, operating philosophy, and single‑line diagrams.
• Evaluate BESS and PV technologies, suppliers, warranties, degradation profiles, and performance guarantees.
• Coordinate technical inputs and cost assumptions with OEMs, EPCs, and consultants.
• Prepare and review TORs, RFPs, and technical bid evaluations.
• Provide technical data for financial models, including CAPEX, OPEX, efficiency, losses, and lifecycle assumptions.
• Assess grid interconnection requirements, grid‑code compliance, and dispatch considerations.
• Support technical‑commercial negotiations with partners, suppliers, and off‑takers.
• Produce technical reports, presentations, and investment memoranda for management and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering.
• Registered Engineer preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in energy storage or power projects.
• Strong knowledge of BESS technologies and applicable grid codes.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities.
