Auditor, Internal Controls Assurance

About the role

The Internal Controls Assurance Auditor will join the Global QBE Finance team in Manila, reporting to the Team Lead and working closely with the Head of Group Finance Operational Risk & Assurance. The role focuses on conducting control audits, standardising documentation, and ensuring the effectiveness of financial controls across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform control audits across the Global QBE Finance environment.
• Assess operating effectiveness of controls and evaluate supporting documentation.
• Challenge divisional accounting teams to remediate identified control deficiencies.
• Monitor the testing universe, risk profiles and recommend updates.
• Ensure audit work aligns with the assurance methodology and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and propose improvements to assurance testing programs.
• Utilise assurance technology such as WDesk during reviews.
• Manage resources, time and budgets efficiently.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with GSSC stakeholders.
• Deliver scheduled reviews on time, within budget, and conduct special investigations as needed.

Required profile

• Solid experience and understanding of financial controls.
• Strong professional and accounting judgement.
• Ability to distinguish acceptable from non‑acceptable control outcomes.
• Attention to detail and capability to work with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
