Associate Counsel

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Counsel to provide pragmatic legal advice across all business units, ensuring compliance with trade, labor, tax, and other regulations while supporting operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely legal advice on trade laws, labor, tax, and general compliance.
• Review and update internal policies, templates, and operational guidelines.
• Manage sensitive internal investigations, grievances, and disputes.
• Handle regulatory inquiries, investigations, and inspections with appropriate responses.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify and mitigate legal risks.
• Support the Litigation team on disputes and strategy.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on business impact.
• Deliver training on legal updates, compliance risks, and best practices.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience in compliance advisory and/or litigation.
• Strong working knowledge of Philippine law; regional experience is a plus.
• Ability to manage cross‑border matters and stakeholder projects effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to simplify complex legal issues.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, matrixed environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with legal technology and AI tools for research and analysis.
• Knowledge of Philippine legal frameworks.
