Associate Counsel – Labor & Employment

About the role

The Associate Counsel (Labor & Employment) will provide legal advisory, compliance, and litigation support on labor and employment matters for the Company and its clients. Working closely with HR, Operations and Management, the role ensures compliance with Philippine labor laws and promotes sound employment practices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and compliance support on labor and employment issues affecting the Company and its clients.
• Advise HR, Operations and Management on employee relations, disciplinary actions, investigations and termination matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate employment contracts, consultancy agreements, independent contractor agreements and workplace policies.
• Review commercial contracts to identify labor and employment implications and recommend safeguards.
• Represent the Company before DOLE, NLRC, SENA and other government agencies when authorized.
• Conduct legal research, prepare memoranda, advisories and legal opinions, and maintain accurate case files.

Required profile

• Licensed lawyer and member in good standing of the Philippine Bar.
• 1‑2 years of experience in labor and employment law from a law firm, corporate legal department or in‑house counsel.
• Experience supporting BPO, shared services or high‑volume employment environments is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to handle administrative investigations, disciplinary proceedings and labor dispute resolution.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Philippine labor and employment laws, regulations and jurisprudence.
• Excellent legal research, writing, drafting and negotiation skills.
• Ability to provide practical, risk‑based, business‑oriented legal advice.
• Strong organizational, case‑management and stakeholder‑management abilities.
