Assistant/Associate Professor of Design (Doctor of Design)

About the role

Outsourcey is seeking experienced design scholars to join its faculty as Assistant or Associate Professors in the Doctor of Design program. The position involves leading doctoral research, delivering graduate courses online, and contributing to curriculum quality.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as dissertation committee chair for Doctor of Design candidates, guiding research milestones across multiple design labs.
• Teach and develop courses for Master of Design and Doctor of Design programs in an online environment.
• Monitor and ensure curriculum compliance with institutional and accrediting standards.
• Assess student work with detailed qualitative and quantitative feedback.
• Respond promptly to student inquiries and maintain proactive communication.

Required profile

• Earned doctoral degree (or advanced candidacy with 5+ years professional design experience) in Design or related fields such as Architecture, Fine Arts, HCI, Urban Planning, or Art History.
• Minimum 5 years of professional design practice with a strong portfolio.
• At least 5 years of graduate‑level teaching experience, preferably in online modalities.
• Recognized academic credentials that satisfy accrediting body requirements.
• Active engagement in design research with a clear agenda for teaching, research, and service.
• Industry experience in design is strongly preferred.
