Assistant Professor – Social Work (Medical Social Work)

About the role

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is seeking an Assistant Professor to join the Department of Social Sciences at its Amritapuri Campus. The successful candidate will contribute to the Master of Medical Social Work program, a core healthcare discipline that addresses the psychosocial dimensions of health, illness, disability, and mental health.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate level courses in social work, with a focus on medical and psychiatric contexts.
• Develop and update curriculum materials to reflect current research and practice standards.
• Mentor and supervise students on academic projects, field placements, and research activities.
• Engage in scholarly research, publish findings, and participate in academic conferences.
• Collaborate with faculty across the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences to foster interdisciplinary initiatives.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Social Work, Social Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
