Application Architect – Strategic Systems Design

About the role

The Application Architect will work closely with the IT Head to shape the long‑term strategic direction of the organization’s application landscape. This senior role requires a deep understanding of how data, applications, hardware, and users interact across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Define and recommend software application solutions that meet complex business requirements, including packaged customisation, bespoke development, and multi‑system integration.
• Ensure new systems are built to satisfy functional needs while delivering performance, scalability, and extensibility now and in the future.
• Review and improve existing systems by applying new technologies and methodologies.
• Provide high‑level guidance on project work to align new initiatives with the overall strategic vision.
• Communicate technical solutions clearly to stakeholders and safeguard upgrade paths for packaged systems.
• Coach Application and Technical Support teams on problem resolution and knowledge transfer.
• Perform any other duties assigned by senior IT leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.
• 10‑15 years of experience in information planning, systems application design, analysis, development, and maintenance, preferably within banking operations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated people and project management experience.
