APAC Custody Tax Operations Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, client‑focused specialist to lead withholding tax operations for a portfolio of institutional clients across the APAC region. The role ensures high‑quality tax service delivery, optimal withholding rates, and timely tax reclaim activity.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on all withholding tax matters, handling enquiries promptly and accurately.
• Develop a deep understanding of each client’s tax profile, investment structure and market activity.
• Collect, review and maintain tax documentation to secure optimal withholding tax rates.
• Monitor tax treatment on client investments and collaborate with internal teams to resolve exceptions.
• Oversee tax reclaim submissions, track aged items and ensure timely progress.
• Coordinate and chair client meetings, presenting status updates and documentation.
• Track, manage and report on client queries, risks and service issues, escalating when necessary.
• Stay informed of changes in tax regimes and translate them into operational procedures and client communications.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in tax operations or client service within the financial services industry.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead client‑focused initiatives.
