Airfreight Operations Specialist

About the role

The Airfreight Operations Specialist manages air‑freight shipments from initiation through delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and high customer satisfaction. Working under general supervision, the specialist coordinates with customers, resolves issues, and guarantees that all shipment activities are performed accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Engage directly with customers to collect shipment details, address incidents, and resolve complaints.
• Capture and assign costs and revenues to customer profiles, resolving simple billing discrepancies.
• Process customer bookings, gather required documentation, and coordinate local and international transport activities.
• Manage shipments according to service commitments, promptly addressing operational issues or irregularities.
• Identify and report operational exceptions, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.
• Improve shipment data quality and maintain accurate records.
• Follow regulatory compliance procedures for commodities, destinations, and legal requirements.
• Develop optimal routing solutions that meet customer needs while maximizing profitability.
• Prepare and issue accurate invoices with supporting documentation.
• Monitor shipment performance using available tools and highlight areas for improvement.
