AI Security Expert

About the role

The AI Security Expert will bridge cybersecurity and machine learning to protect our AI systems from emerging threats. Working remotely on New Zealand business hours, you will ensure that AI models are secure, compliant, and resilient throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement security protocols for model training and deployment pipelines.
• Identify and mitigate adversarial attacks, including input manipulation, model inversion, and data poisoning.
• Protect sensitive datasets and proprietary model intellectual property.
• Conduct AI‑specific threat modeling and internal red‑team exercises.
• Ensure compliance with global AI security standards such as ISO/IEC 42001 and NIST AI RMF.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical teams.
• Strategic thinking with practical implementation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience in adversarial machine learning techniques (gradient‑based attacks, evasion attacks, model extraction).
• Secure software development expertise, especially securing CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of containerised environments, e.g., Docker.
