Accounting Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to take ownership of our books immediately and keep our multi‑channel eCommerce business financially clean. Reporting to the Director of Sales, Operations & Finance, you will ensure accurate, up‑to‑date financial information that supports rapid scaling.

Key responsibilities

• Full ownership of QuickBooks Online: monthly close, reconciliations, journal entries, and real‑time financial statements.
• Marketplace & DTC accounting: reconcile Amazon settlements (fees, rebates, returns, chargebacks) and Shopify/payment‑processor payouts; apply the same discipline to new sales channels.
• Inventory & COGS management: track inventory across co‑manufacturers and warehouses, calculate landed costs, spoilage, and maintain SKU‑level margin accuracy.
• AP/AR & payroll: process vendor bills, payments, receivables, payroll, and expense management.
• Reporting & compliance: produce monthly reports for executive leadership, manage multi‑state sales tax, 1099 filings, and maintain audit‑ready records.

Required profile

• 5+ years of end‑to‑end bookkeeping experience, including monthly close and GAAP‑based financials.
• Accounting degree; CPA certification is a plus.
• Deep expertise with QuickBooks Online and advanced spreadsheet skills.
• Strong eCommerce accounting background, especially Amazon settlement and Shopify payout reconciliation.
• Experience with inventory and COGS accounting for physical‑product or CPG businesses.
• Highly self‑directed and able to take over the books with minimal ramp‑up in a fast‑moving environment.
