Accounting Manager

About the role

General Metal Container of the Philippines (GEMECO) is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead its finance function within the tin‑can manufacturing business. You will provide senior management with accurate financial insights, drive operational efficiency, and support the company’s growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare regular financial updates for top management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting key data points.
• Implement and strengthen accounting procedures, systems, and internal compliance in line with national and local regulations.
• Forecast costs and revenues to guide financial decisions and meet budgeting objectives.
• Monitor accounting discrepancies, recommend corrective actions, and maintain robust financial controls.
• Develop and enforce internal controls to protect company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Lead, motivate, and develop the accounting team, fostering trust and productivity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy.
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA.
• At least 5 years of managerial experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis.
• Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Experience with SAP accounting system.
