Accountant – Full‑time onsite role in Cebu City

About the role

We are Smartsourcing and we are looking for a full‑time, onsite Accountant to own the complete accounting cycle for our busy finance function in Cebu City. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day transactional processing, month‑end and year‑end close, fixed‑asset management, balance‑sheet reconciliations and preparation of group profit‑and‑loss statements and audit‑ready reports.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end transactional processing and data entry.
• Prepare and post month‑end and year‑end journals, including accruals, pre‑payments and amortisation.
• Manage monthly and annual close cycles while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Process and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register, post monthly depreciation and maintain schedules.
• Account for asset additions, disposals, adjustments and classifications.
• Prepare accurate monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Prepare group Profit & Loss statements and produce audit‑ready financial reports.
• Support external audit processes and present financial information to leadership.
• Perform intercompany, levy and gift‑voucher reconciliations and resolve timing differences.
• Assist with preparation, lodgement and reconciliation of taxation obligations such as GST, BAS, PAYG, FBT and income tax.
• Provide ad‑hoc finance team support, cover leave periods and contribute to system improvements and AI readiness initiatives.

Required profile

• Proactive and reliable with strong attention to detail.
• Confident communicator able to interact with senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a semi‑structured environment where judgement and decision‑making are required.
