WTG Installation Manager

About the role

The WTG Installation Manager will lead and coordinate all wind turbine installation activities on behalf of the client. This senior position ensures that turbine erection, crane assembly, and related works are performed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee contractor installation works, including crane selection, hardstand design, turbine erection, and mechanical/electrical assembly.
• Monitor alignment, torqueing, and tensioning of mechanical connections during erection.
• Conduct inspections, witness tests, and verify compliance with OEM specifications and industry standards.
• Develop and implement Contract Management Plans and monitor interfaces between multiple contractors.
• Review and approve contractor method statements, risk assessments, lifting plans, and emergency procedures.
• Enforce HSSE policies, conduct site audits, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Track installation progress, report deviations, and propose mitigation strategies for risks such as delays or weather impacts.
• Maintain accurate records, manage punch lists, and coordinate handovers with OEMs, logistics providers, and civil contractors.

Required profile

• MSc or BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of construction engineering experience on wind power projects.
• Proven experience in wind turbine installation, crane handling, and mechanical systems integration.
• Strong knowledge of turbine erection methods, heavy lifting, and QA management.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
