Vocational Instructor – Working Hands

About the role

Working Hands is seeking dedicated vocational instructors to train young men from low‑income families in Metro Manila and surrounding provinces. The role combines hands‑on trade instruction with spiritual mentorship, helping trainees grow both professionally and in their faith.

Key responsibilities

• Represent your specific trade area to the Working Hands director.
• Assist with student applications, screening and selection for the training program.
• Integrate Biblical principles into shop activities and provide personal counsel when character issues arise.
• Maintain and procure hand and power tools, equipment and facilities.
• Oversee the shop’s business and administration to achieve a self‑supporting training program.
• Train national assistants to eventually lead the program.
• Keep accurate student records, grades and achievement logs.

Required profile

• Commitment of four years to a career with Working Hands.
• Strong personal conviction to serve God as a servant‑leader.
• Proven competence in your vocational trade.
• 1‑2 years of discipleship experience in youth or Christian service.
• Preferably one year of Bible school training.
• Minimum Tagalog Level 2.
• Willingness to live in staff housing and adapt to local culture.
• Ability to train a Filipino successor.
• At least 18 years old, active Christian, involved in a local church and recommended by a pastor.
• Teachable, adaptable, good‑humored and spiritually mature.
