Upper School Theater Teacher & Director

About the role

The school is seeking an experienced theater teacher and director to lead its Upper School (grades 6‑12) performing‑arts program. The role involves teaching two daily theater class periods, directing student productions, and coordinating rehearsals and extracurricular practice sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily theater lessons for middle and high school students.
• Direct and produce theatrical performances, managing student cast and crew.
• Organize and supervise rehearsals, practice times, and related extracurricular activities.
• Develop lesson plans that integrate the school’s Christian philosophy and biblical perspective.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student progress.
• Communicate regularly with parents and uphold school policies and disciplinary procedures.

Required profile

• Prior experience teaching theater or directing school productions.
• Ability to work with students in grades 6‑12 and manage a diverse cast and crew.
• Commitment to the school’s Christian mission and ability to incorporate biblical principles into instruction.
• Willingness to attend professional development events and follow school policies.
