Training Specialist – Employee Onboarding & Development

About the role

The Training Specialist is responsible for ensuring new hires integrate smoothly and existing employees continue to develop their skills. This role designs, delivers, and evaluates training programs that support onboarding, continuous learning, and performance improvement across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct training needs analysis using surveys, interviews, observations and performance data to identify skill gaps.
• Design, develop and update training modules, presentations, handouts and interactive activities.
• Plan and coordinate training sessions, manage resources, schedule venues and ensure all materials and equipment are ready.
• Facilitate onboarding, refresher courses and coaching sessions, delivering engaging learning experiences.
• Visit stores or sites to assess training effectiveness, observe operations, and provide on‑the‑job coaching.
• Develop assessment tools such as exams or quizzes to measure learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with other departments to align training with company policies and store practices.

• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills for scheduling and resource management.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
