Technician II – Product/Test

About the role

The Technician II – Product/Test supports the HP-MCU Business Unit by maintaining product health, managing test tools and hardware, and assisting engineering teams in both wafer‑sort and final‑test environments. The role involves hands‑on setup, validation, and troubleshooting of test programs to ensure reliable semiconductor testing.

Key responsibilities

• Support engineering activities such as product/process qualification, test program validation and release, test insertion elimination, sample generation, and customer support.
• Prepare test programs, loadboards, and tester setups; perform initial validation and data logging of reliability rejects.
• Monitor evaluation lots and engineering samples, especially during off‑hours, and provide regular status reports.
• Coordinate priorities with Operations, Flexcell, and Planning for new‑product‑development engineering stations.
• Work with maintenance, operators, and supervisors to set up engineering stations and expedite assigned tasks.
• Route documentation for approval (work instructions, e‑signatures, inventory requests, dispatch, gatepass, shipping forms).
• Manage inventory of hardware (probe cards, loadboards, sockets, contactors) and implement 5S practices.
• Ship tools, boards, and units, preparing shipping documents and packing.
• Set up, troubleshoot, maintain, calibrate, perform preventive maintenance and repair of engineering tools and equipment.
• Extract and safeguard production rejects for engineering analysis and conduct initial validation.
• Perform manual testing of engineering samples for urgent customer requests.

Required profile

• Knowledge and interest in semiconductor (micro‑controllers, flash memory) test methods.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Advanced computer skills with familiarity in PC hardware and network systems.
• Highly energetic, self‑motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good analytical skills and experience with QC tools, 5S, Why‑Why analysis, SPC, and other test methodologies.
• Proactive, systematic, and capable of coordinating multiple tasks in a global, multicultural environment.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
