Technical Support Engineer – Industrial Automation

About the role

OMRON’s shared services team is seeking a motivated Technical Support Engineer to provide frontline assistance for industrial automation products across the APAC region. You will work closely with customers, sales, and engineering teams to ensure fast, reliable resolution of technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical support via phone, email, remote tools and occasional onsite visits.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and recommend solutions for PLCs, servo motors, VFDs, HMIs, controllers and vision systems.
• Escalate complex cases to engineering or product specialists.
• Log and manage all interactions in the CRM system, maintaining accurate case records.
• Produce technical guides, sample programs and knowledge‑base articles.
• Support customer‑satisfaction initiatives by meeting response‑time and resolution targets.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations and Engineering to address customer requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Robotics or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in technical support, industrial automation or related engineering roles.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Hands‑on knowledge of PLCs, servo motors, VFDs, HMIs, controllers and vision systems.
• Experience with CRM or support platforms such as Salesforce, Cisco, Five9 or Avaya.
