Tax Compliance Officer

About the role

The Tax Compliance Officer will ensure accurate preparation, filing, and payment of tax obligations for the organization. This role requires close coordination with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and internal teams to maintain compliance with Philippine tax laws.

Key responsibilities

• Check and verify completeness and accuracy of BIR forms (e.g., 1601C, 0619E, 2550M, 1601EQ, 2550Q, 1702Q, 2000, 0605) against the trial balance.
• Ensure timely filing and payment of tax obligations.
• Prepare and submit annual online government reports (e.g., 1604C, 1604E, SAWT, gross sales summary for business permit renewal).
• Coordinate responses to BIR tax queries and assessments.
• Update, maintain, and cascade tax compliance procedures across the enterprise.
• Identify tax risks, implement control mechanisms, and protect the company from tax evasion or offenses.
• Monitor status of BIR Letter of Authority (LOA) and other government assessments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Familiarity with Philippines Accounting Standards (PAS) and Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
• Training in tax compliance and document control management.
• Understanding of tax rulings.
