Surface Grinding Operator

About the role

The Surface Grinding Operator is responsible for operating surface grinding machines to produce high‑quality components and precision tooling. The role involves performing a variety of grinding operations and fabricating semi‑precision parts such as punches, dies, die sets and mould components.

Key responsibilities

• Set‑up, adjust and operate surface grinder equipment according to job specifications.
• Execute grinding processes to achieve required dimensions, surface finish and tolerances.
• Fabricate precision and semi‑precision tooling components, including punches, dies, die sets and mould parts.
• Inspect finished parts and verify compliance with technical drawings and quality standards.
• Maintain machine cleanliness, perform routine maintenance and report any equipment issues.

Required profile

• College graduate or undergraduate in Mechanical Technology, Mechanical Engineering or a technical/vocational program focused on machining.
• Minimum two years of experience operating surface grinding machines or in a related machining role.
• Completed a six‑month apprenticeship or on‑the‑job training program.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings is an advantage.
