Strategic Materials Planner

About the role

The Strategic Materials Planner will lead Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) across multiple manufacturing sites and co‑manufacturers, ensuring optimal inventory levels, uninterrupted supply, and high planning accuracy. You will act as the MRP subject‑matter expert, driving continuous improvement and fostering collaboration among supply‑chain, procurement, and production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Govern MRP accuracy and health checks across all plants, defining stock policies and re‑ordering points.
• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to optimise the supply network, including imported material flows and cost‑efficiency initiatives.
• Lead capability‑building, training and continuous‑improvement programmes for MRP users.
• Facilitate structured communication between planners, procurement, and suppliers to resolve performance issues.
• Manage events that could disrupt supply, ensuring smooth operations during sourcing changes.
• Track domestic and import transportation lead times and incorporate them into planning parameters.
• Review and update supplier capacities and flexibility in line with demand‑supply planning strategies.
• Identify, communicate and mitigate supply risks, aiming to reduce waste and bad goods.

Required profile

• Proven experience in materials planning or supply‑chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable planning decisions.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with factories, procurement, and external suppliers.
• Ability to lead process improvements and drive governance standards.
