Staff Engineer, Manufacturing Test Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Engineer to lead manufacturing test engineering initiatives. You will design robust test architectures, drive systematic problem‑solving, and introduce automation and data analytics to improve yield, throughput, and overall equipment effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Establish test architectures that ensure accuracy, repeatability, and full product coverage.
• Apply structured problem‑solving methods (8D, DMAIC, PDCA) to resolve chronic test and product issues.
• Implement advanced automation, data analytics, and test methodologies to boost yield and throughput.
• Optimize test performance through system tuning, OEE improvements, and cost‑reduction projects.
• Enhance test cycle time, equipment uptime, and test coverage.
• Provide technical leadership and coaching to engineers and technicians.
• Maintain highly reliable, maintainable, and scalable test platforms across multiple lines or sites.
• Act as technical lead for test readiness from NPI through mass production and end‑of‑life.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience with LTX‑Credence X Series or Diamond X tester platforms in semiconductor test environments.
• Proven track record of yield, cycle‑time, OEE improvement and cost‑down initiatives.
• Experience handling mixed‑signal device test resolution.

Required skills

• LTX‑Credence X Series and Diamond X tester platforms.
• Advantest V93K, Teradyne MicroFlex, Teradyne UltraFlex, Teradyne J750, NI PXI.
• Wafer‑level and package‑level hardware: probe cards (vertical, MEMS, cantilever), load boards, test sockets.
• Probers such as TEL and ElectroGlass (EG).
• Handlers from Cohu, Advantest, and Multitest.
