Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper

About the role

We are a fast‑growing consumer products company that sells across Amazon, Shopify D2C, major retailers and emerging marketplaces. We need a detail‑obsessed bookkeeping accountant who lives inside the books of an ecommerce business and can manage the complexity of multi‑channel revenue, marketplace settlements, and inventory‑heavy COGS.

Key responsibilities

• Full‑cycle bookkeeping for multiple brands: AP, AR, bank and credit‑card reconciliations, journal entries, and month‑end close.
• Channel‑level reconciliation of Amazon settlement reports, Shopify payouts, retail/EDI remittances, TikTok Shop payouts and chargebacks.
• Maintain accurate inventory and COGS by SKU and channel, track landed cost and reconcile 3PL/warehouse data with the general ledger.
• Revenue recognition by channel, separating gross sales, fees, refunds, promotions and shipping income.
• Prepare weekly borrowing‑base certificates and monthly GAAP‑basis financial packages for an asset‑based lender.
• Maintain chart of accounts hygiene and support sales‑tax compliance across states and marketplaces.
• Track cash flow, flag potential issues, and document SOPs for repeatable close processes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of full‑cycle bookkeeping/accounting experience, with at least 2 years in ecommerce or CPG.
• Hands‑on experience reconciling Amazon settlements and Shopify/marketplace payouts.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and COGS for physical‑product businesses.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (or NetSuite/Xero) and Excel/Google Sheets.
• Solid grasp of US GAAP fundamentals and accrual accounting.
