Six Sigma Consultant - Black Belt (Multiple Sites)

About the role

Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group, is looking for a Project Six Sigma Consultant (Black Belt) based in Makati, Philippines, to work across several sites. The role supports strategic initiatives that cross business teams and operating groups, coordinating and completing projects, defining performance and results, and managing vendors and service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a Six Sigma quality culture and lead improvement projects, measuring and validating results
• Use a data-driven, statistical approach to problem solving, including gathering, analysing and reporting data
• Define metrics to gauge process performance through a structured reporting governance model
• Present project analysis and findings to senior leadership to secure approval, funding and other requirements
• Manage the Bright Idea program and deploy process trainings, including training needs identification, deck preparation and delivery
• Support 200-400 FTEs and 5-10 mid to highly complex businesses, collaborating with US quality and operations teams

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline
• 5+ years of experience as a certified Six Sigma Black Belt leading operational, process and business transformation initiatives, including projects using AI/ML technologies, within a top-tier BPO organisation
• 3+ completed and/or certified projects, including work on emerging technologies such as automation, machine learning and AI
• Experience solving major project or customer issues, change management and presenting to senior leadership
• Previous experience in a Project Management Office (PMO)

Required skills

• Six Sigma Black Belt certification (advantageous); Lean Six Sigma preferred
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Preferred: Project Management certification, Master's degree, design thinking experience and proven stakeholder relationship building
