Senior Statistical Programmer - R Programming

About the role

ICON, a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation, is hiring a Senior Statistical Programmer (R Programming) to work from home. The role involves analysing clinical trial data and supporting the statistical analysis process so that high-quality results are delivered.

Key responsibilities

• Lead statistical programming tasks with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
• Develop and validate SAS programs for statistical analysis and reporting of clinical trial data.
• Collaborate with biostatisticians to define analysis plans and statistical methods for clinical data.
• Perform quality control checks on statistical outputs and ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting.
• Assist in preparing statistical reports, presentations and publications for regulatory submissions.
• Contribute to process improvements by identifying efficiencies in programming practices and methodologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in statistics, computer science, mathematics or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in statistical programming, preferably in clinical research or pharmaceutical settings.
• Ability to work independently and guide others.
• Must be amenable to working in a home-based setup.
• Legal right to work in the country where the role is based.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in SAS programming and a solid understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies.
• At least basic proficiency in R programming applied in clinical research studies.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork.
