Senior Quality Engineer - AI-Driven Test Automation

About the role

Manulife is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quality Engineer in Test to join its AI-driven QE Transformation Team. The role helps modernise the Quality Engineering approach and drive best practices using the latest technology, with a particular focus on AI adoption. It is a highly technical position requiring strong hands-on expertise as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced test automation frameworks and AI-driven test solutions to improve test coverage and quality.
• Develop and promote highly reliable, maintainable and reusable code.
• Integrate tools into enterprise DevOps pipelines to automate integration and functional testing end to end.
• Enhance and support applications based on industry standards and best practices (AI or automation tools).
• Drive adoption of modern test automation frameworks and tools across the organisation.
• Establish and enforce automation standards, frameworks and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering or higher, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in QA / SDET.
• Amenable to a night shift schedule (8pm to 5am) and a hybrid setup (3 days per week onsite at the Mactan New Town office).
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.

• Test frameworks: Selenium, Appium, Rest Assured, Pytest, WebDriverIO, Playwright, Cucumber.
• Tools: Postman, GitHub, GitLab, Git, JIRA, Xray, Power BI, New Relic, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, TeamCity.
• Programming: Java, Python or JavaScript.
• Cloud testing platforms: Perfecto, Sauce Labs, BrowserStack, AWS Device Farm.
• Concepts: BDD, TDD, shift-left, mocks and stubs, service virtualisation, synthetic data, CI/CD/CT, software design lifecycle, architecture principles and design patterns.
• AI tools: GenAI, GitHub Copilot, Agentic AI, LLMs, prompt engineering and Copilot for Test Automation.
