Senior Mechanical Engineer (Data Center)

About the role

Arup is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of hyperscale data centre projects across the Philippines and the wider APAC region. Based in Manila, the role starts with three months on‑site before moving to a hybrid work arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for multidisciplinary MEPF design from concept through commissioning.
• Act as Project Leader, managing design disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, ELV, Fire Protection, and Plumbing/Drainage.
• Develop and mentor a team that wins and executes data‑centre projects.
• Support business development by preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and maintaining client relationships.
• Ensure engineering excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with client requirements for capacity, resilience, scalability, and performance.

Required profile

• Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME) or ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE) – chartership strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of technical/mechanical design experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to data‑centre projects.
• Recognised certifications or equivalent knowledge of PSME, ASHRAE, NFPA, Uptime Institute, ANSI/TIA‑942, ISO 5001.
• Proven project management and business development experience.
