Senior Legal Counsel – Data Center

About the role
The Senior Legal Counsel – Data Center is a strategic position within the Legal Department, responsible for managing contractual and commercial legal matters for the company in Brazil. The role focuses on client contracts—including public‑sector and state‑owned entities—and supplier agreements, ensuring proper structuring, negotiation, governance, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and alignment with business objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Provide integral legal advice on commercial and contractual matters to Sales, Finance, Operations, and Procurement teams.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex service‑sale contracts, including those with governmental or majority‑state clients.
- Ensure consistency between client‑sale terms and supplier‑purchase terms.
- Lead high‑complexity negotiations to secure balanced, favorable conditions for the company.
- Manage contract templates, best‑practice negotiation guidelines, and contract‑management systems.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, contractual, regulatory, and financial risks in new operations or renewals.
- Guarantee contract compliance with internal policies, local regulations, and corporate standards.
- Oversee the full contract lifecycle, monitoring renewals, liability limits, SLAs, and penalties.
- Drive end‑to‑end process improvements for sales and procurement contracting.
Required profile
- Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent).
- Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish, capable of negotiating and drafting complex contracts in both languages.
- Proven experience in contract management, corporate legal advisory, or legal consultancy.
- Preferable background in the telecommunications or technology industry.
- Extensive experience negotiating critical clauses such as SLAs, liability limits, indemnities, and penalty provisions.
- Strategic thinking, high‑level negotiation skills, result orientation, risk‑management focus, and effective communication.
Required skills
- Advanced English and Spanish language skills for contract negotiation and drafting.
- Expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Strong knowledge of Brazilian regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management tools and processes.
- Familiarity with telecom/technology sector contractual practices.
