Senior Joinery Estimator

About the role

A fast-scaling Australian joinery manufacturer expanding into large-scale commercial sectors such as education, health, hospitality and high-end residential projects is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator. The role owns the complete commercial pipeline: finding the right work, pricing it precisely and closing deals. It suits a confident professional who can handle complex multi-trade commercial scopes up to $1M+ and deliver accurate, defensible quotes without needing a senior manager to check each line.

Key responsibilities

• Pipeline management: identify opportunities, run take-offs, negotiate terms and secure signed contracts, acting as the main commercial contact for tier-1 and tier-2 builders and clients.
• Lead negotiations, chase decisions, defend margins and manage RFIs or addendums.
• Flag pricing risks, scope gaps and buildability issues during tender periods.
• Prepare accurate take-offs, manage supplier pricing and control margins across joinery, cabinetry, pinboards, whiteboards, architectural metalwork, stone and custom upholstery.
• Independently read architectural and interior design drawings and project specifications, then enter precise quotes in the company's operations platform so they are ready for job conversion within 24 hours of acceptance.
• Reconcile completed projects with initial estimates to refine pricing models, and improve internal estimating systems and bidding strategies.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a Joinery or Shopfitting Estimator on complex commercial quotes averaging $1M+ in value.
• Deep knowledge of joinery and integrated trades such as stone, upholstery, metalwork, pinboards and whiteboards.
• Proven ability to negotiate, overcome client objections and close deals.
• Sharp judgment to assess lead quality early and focus on high-yield opportunities.

Required skills

• Expert-level Bluebeam skills (mandatory).
• Fluency with structured ERP platforms; JOBMAN experience is an advantage.
