Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (React/Node.js)

About the role

Manulife IT Delivery Center is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (React/Node.js) to lead an agile squad and help deliver products successfully. The role suits ambitious people who enjoy designing, developing, testing, maintaining and improving software applications within an Agile team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead an agile squad to deliver sprint commitments with high quality.
• Design reusable, efficient and easy-to-maintain application components.
• Refactor existing code to improve reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Research, evaluate and prototype emerging technologies.
• Mentor intermediate and associate software engineers.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and other stakeholders in an Agile environment.
• Work with other squads to drive innovative solutions and establish best practices for development, testing and delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5-7 years of software engineering experience.
• Frontend and backend experience with HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular 2+, React, Node and Java.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with frameworks and API/service layers such as Spring Boot, Swagger and Node/Express.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic, Datadog and Kibana.
• Test-driven development experience with Jasmine, Jest, Mocha, JUnit and Mockito (Java).
• Cloud PaaS and microservices experience in Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes.
• Agile Scrum methodology experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Ability to explain high-level solution architecture.
• Knowledge of SonarQube, Fortify and WebInspect.
• CSS best practices and frameworks such as Material UI, BEM, SMACSS, Flexbox and CSS Grid.
