Senior FreeCAD Mechanical Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in FreeCAD to join our remote team on a contract basis. You will be responsible for creating high‑quality parametric CAD models and ensuring they meet strict manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD according to project specifications.
• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies, applying best practices for component integration.
• Apply rigorous GD&T and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to guarantee manufacturability and quality.
• Generate clear technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings, identifying and communicating issues.
• Use Python scripting to automate repetitive or complex CAD tasks.

Required profile

• Strong experience in mechanical, product, or industrial engineering with a focus on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or an equivalent parametric CAD platform.
• Solid understanding of GD&T and DFM best practices.
• Proven ability to produce comprehensive technical drawings and documentation.
• Experience performing engineering QA and verifying model integrity.
• Python scripting skills for CAD automation are highly advantageous.
