Senior AU Tax Accountant

About the role

Join a forward‑looking advisory firm with over 30 years of experience, supporting a diverse client base across Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane. As a Senior Australian Tax Accountant you will work within a growing team, handling complex tax and accounting matters for a range of organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑level technical work in Australian tax and accounting compliance for a variety of clients.
• Review and quality‑check accounting and taxation work prepared by junior team members.
• Prepare and review email communications, queries and advice for Australian advisers.
• Assist clients with cash‑flow planning, budgeting and management‑account analysis.
• Apply strong time and project management to ensure timely, high‑quality service delivery.
• Contribute to the technical development of yourself and the wider team.
• Maintain strict adherence to firm systems, file‑management and security procedures.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of experience in an Australian accounting practice.
• CPA or CA qualification, or close to completion.
• Excellent technical knowledge of Australian tax and accounting compliance.
• Proficiency with cloud‑based platforms, specifically Xero and XeroTax.
• Strong written and verbal communication with a high level of professionalism.
• Proven problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Self‑starter who thrives on challenging work and continuous professional development.
• Experience reviewing the work of others is required for a senior role.
