Senior Architectural Technician / Draftsperson (Remote)

About the role

Hunt St helps Australian companies hire remote talent in the Philippines. This Senior Architectural Technician / Draftsperson role is fully remote, paid $1,500-$2,750 AUD per month under an independent contractor agreement, and works around Australian business hours (about 9am-5:30pm, Mon-Fri) with flexible scheduling. The client is a Melbourne architectural studio covering residential, multi-residential, commercial and social infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed design and development approval (DA) drawing packages, and detailed construction documentation sets accurate enough for regulatory review and tender.
• Act as the internal expert on building codes and standards, reviewing documentation for building permit compliance.
• Integrate consultant drawings into a coherent documentation set, managing input from various specialists.
• Lead during the construction services phase, answering builder RFIs and resolving technical issues.
• Mentor the wider team, advise senior staff on capacity, and take full accountability for documentation work across several projects.
• Maintain professional communication with clients and contractors.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Drafting or Building Design.
• At least 5 years of experience as an Architectural Technician / Draftsperson or similar.
• Extensive knowledge of building standards and regulations.
• Extensive experience in technical documentation and detailing, with a focus on buildability and cost indicators.
• Australian experience strongly preferred.

Required skills

• CAD/BIM software, with at least 3 years of Revit focused on large-scale drawing packages, complex 3D modelling and detailed drafting.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and strong organisation across a diverse project portfolio.
• Rhino3D experience preferred but not mandatory.
