About the role

Cactus Communications is seeking a remote Scientific Editor specialized in Medicine and Life Sciences. You will work with researchers worldwide to refine manuscripts, ensuring scientific accuracy and high‑quality academic writing.

Key responsibilities

• Review and edit research manuscripts for clarity, coherence, and readability while preserving authors’ intent.
• Validate subject‑specific terminology, conventions, and scientific arguments for accuracy and consistency.
• Enhance presentation of complex findings to improve communication and publication readiness.
• Ensure final texts meet academic standards, are free of unclear or illogical sentences, and follow journal‑specific guidelines.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., Environmental Health, Public Health, Infectious Diseases, Biomedical Informatics, Radiology, etc.).
• Strong publication record with 5–10+ first‑author papers.
• Prior experience in peer review and scientific editing or academic publishing.
• Ability to critically assess study design, methodology, statistics, and interpretation.
• Excellent written English and meticulous attention to detail.
