Quality Engineer I

About the role

UCT is seeking a Quality Engineer I to support its semiconductor operations in the Philippines. The role will plan and coordinate quality activities, collaborate with the Quality Manager, and ensure that components, processes and products meet defined technical requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quality engineering reviews of design documentation to verify compliance with vendor manuals and internal standards.
• Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to analyze performance data and identify trends.
• Evaluate incoming materials and components, providing recommendations on product acceptance.
• Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and validate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to complete and approve FAIR documentation for new product introductions and engineering changes.
• Investigate nonconformances, customer complaints and internal quality issues, conducting root‑cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Document and maintain accurate records of all quality assurance activities, including FAIR results and NC investigations.
• Develop and implement corrective actions and innovative solutions to resolve quality issues.
• Prepare and present reports summarizing quality activities, findings and results to team members and management.

Required profile

• Experience conducting quality reviews of design documentation and ensuring compliance with standards.
• Proven ability to investigate nonconformances, perform root‑cause analysis and implement CAPA.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams on new product introductions and engineering changes.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive continuous improvement.
