Quality Assurance Technologist – Food Manufacturing

About the role

The Quality Assurance Technologist ensures product safety and integrity at the point of production. You will verify that hygiene conditions, equipment readiness, and processing standards meet regulatory and internal requirements before and during operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform GHP pre‑operation inspections of production areas, personnel practices, and environmental hygiene.
• Conduct scheduled GHP audits, produce complete reports, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Check hand‑washing, gowning, sanitation, and pest‑control compliance across assigned shifts.
• Document hygiene deviations using standardized non‑conformance forms and drive corrective actions.
• Escalate critical hygiene breaches to the QA Supervisor, FSQR Manager, or HACCP team.
• Validate equipment readiness before production runs and hold lines when hygiene or equipment non‑conformities pose a risk.
• Verify corrective actions are completed and re‑inspect before resuming production.

Required profile

• Graduate in Food Technology, Chemical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Biology, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.
• At least 1 year of experience in food manufacturing QA/QC, sanitation, or production with exposure to hygiene monitoring and equipment inspection.
• Working knowledge of Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Basic understanding of industrial food processing and packaging equipment such as fillers, seamers, X‑ray, canalyzers, and cooker‑coolers.
• Experience with internal audits, inspections, and checklist‑based verification.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
