Pump Technician

About the role

The Pump Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting a variety of industrial pumps used in wastewater management, water treatment and related engineering projects. The role ensures that pump systems operate efficiently, safely and reliably while supporting project teams and field operators.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect and maintain centrifugal, positive displacement and submersible pumps.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, perform repairs and replace worn components such as seals.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks including lubrication, alignment, calibration and performance testing.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare‑part inventories and service reports.
• Provide technical guidance to operators and assist in the design and implementation of pump solutions for specific projects.
• Prepare client acceptance documents and ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Required profile

• Vocational or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a degree is a plus.
• At least 1–2 years of hands‑on experience with pump installation, maintenance or repair in an industrial setting.
• Familiarity with submersible pumps and fire/jockey pump operation is highly preferred.
• Relevant certifications in mechanical or electrical systems and safety (e.g., OSHA) are advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, safety‑oriented mindset and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Required skills

• Centrifugal, positive displacement and submersible pump knowledge.
• Pump alignment, calibration and performance testing.
• Use of hand tools, wrenches and torque equipment.
• Basic electrical motor control troubleshooting.
• Fire pump and jockey pump operation.
