Programme Policy Officer – Emergency Preparedness & Response

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a Programme Policy Officer to lead emergency preparedness and response initiatives in the Philippines. The role will support the implementation of the Country Strategic Plan 2024‑2028, strengthening government systems and building resilience among vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update policies and guidelines for emergency preparedness and response in line with WFP’s strategic objectives.
• Coordinate with national, local and regional authorities, including the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, to ensure effective programme delivery.
• Monitor and evaluate programme outcomes, providing analytical reports to inform decision‑making.
• Support the integration of nutrition, food security and climate‑change considerations into emergency interventions.
• Facilitate collaboration with partners and stakeholders to enhance response capacity.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in humanitarian programmes, emergency preparedness or policy development.
• Knowledge of the Philippines context, including government structures and the BARMM region.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with ability to work in a multicultural environment.
