Program Officer – AP Manila

About the role

The Program Officer will represent WVDF in a designated municipality or city in the Philippines, ensuring the effective implementation of technical programs that improve child wellbeing. Working closely with community‑based organisations, local government, churches, schools and private agencies, the officer will integrate development approaches and sponsorship plans into daily activities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate primary implementing partners and secure signed Community Shared Plans or Partnership Agreements.
• Prepare and submit contextualised annual implementation plans aligned with the Area Program.
• Track weekly and monthly implementation against targets, including budget utilisation.
• Collaborate with the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children to address child wellbeing concerns.
• Facilitate training for local agencies and partners on project models and interventions.
• Partner with faith‑based organisations to integrate spiritual nurture activities.
• Resolve issues affecting child wellbeing and program delivery.
• Integrate sponsorship processes with development programming.
• Lead coordination of PNS/Grants projects, donor engagements and sponsor visits.

Required profile

• Experience representing an NGO in a specific geographic area.
• Ability to work with diverse partners including CBOs, government bodies and faith‑based groups.
• Knowledge of child protection and wellbeing issues.
• Capacity to develop and monitor detailed implementation plans.
• Readiness to participate in emergency response teams when required.
