Production Planner/Buyer

About the role

The Production Planner/Buyer will join the National Planning and Buying teams to ensure that produce supply meets 100% of daily site production plans. Acting as the daily supplier contact, the role maintains strategic relationships while delivering feasible material schedules across fixed and trading zones.

Key responsibilities

• Create daily production plans using the client’s ERP system and provide quality, feasible material schedules.
• Maintain the site production process within trading and fixed zones, ensuring consistency between weekly supply plans and daily schedules.
• Monitor capacity, identify solutions for over‑capacity situations and report to the Planning Manager.
• Collaborate with Demand Planning, Sales and Operations to minimise excess stock and finished‑goods dumps.
• Prepare production plans for events, public holidays and launches, and generate weekly supply schedules for each produce line.
• Produce daily Material‑to‑Plan availability reports and maintain master data across all planning ERP systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience in FMCG or manufacturing operations, preferably with short‑shelf‑life products.
• Demonstrated production planning and scheduling expertise delivering commercial results.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, manage many moving activities and drive collaborative relationships.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and high resilience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with a commitment to safety and zero‑harm initiatives.

Required skills
