Principal Auditor – Validations (Assistant Vice President)

About the role

The Principal Auditor – Validations will join Deutsche Bank’s Group Audit team in Manila, reporting to the Validations Principal Audit Manager. This senior‑level position supports the bank’s third line of defence by overseeing validation work, assessing risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct walkthroughs of findings, identify risks and controls, design test plans and execute validation testing.
• Assess materiality of exceptions and draw conclusions on validation outcomes.
• Monitor regulatory and audit developments and disseminate relevant knowledge across the audit team.
• Escalate emerging risks to senior management through appropriate reporting channels.
• Maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance audit effectiveness.
• Report validation coverage status to the Principal Audit Manager and flag any delays or gaps.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; advanced degree or professional certifications (CPA, CIA, CAMS, CFE) preferred.
• Extensive experience in an audit function within the financial services industry, including leading audits or validation projects.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and the risk‑control environment in banking.
• Proven ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
